He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of Benazir Dynamic Registry Center at BISP District Office Narowal. On this occasion, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Measures Ahsan Iqbal was also with him.
The function was attended by government officials, community leaders and beneficiaries of the BISP programme.
During the inauguration, Shazia Murri introduced to the audience the unprecedented Dynamic Registry, which monitors socio-economic conditions and updates the data periodically. Shazia Murri added that the registry is functioning at 600 centers across Pakistan, and benefits more than 9 million people.
He emphasized that the floods and global inflation have changed the economic conditions of people in Pakistan and that the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) should be included in the list of BISP beneficiaries. Survey is mandatory. He urged women to register in NSER survey and thanked Ahsan Iqbal for his support.
Responding to a question from the audience, Shazia Murri said that BISP is planning to conduct a closed initiative: Wasila Haq programme. Benazir Income Support Program is trying to expand its reach. He added that the Benazir Income Support Program is recognized as one of the most transparent initiatives by leading international organizations like the United Nations.
In his remarks, Ahsan Iqbal welcomed Shazia Murri to the land full of cultural passions. He appreciated the work of Shazia Murree for expanding the horizons of the Benazir Income Support Programme.

He further said that BISP is a program which is beyond politics. He was told by DGNSER, Naveed Akbar that the Benazir Income Support Program has data on about 34 million households in Pakistan. He also apprised the minister about the National Socio-Economic Registry. Ahsan Iqbal said that Prime Minister Benazir is deeply interested in Income Support Program. Speaking to the media, he outlined the reasons for the current inflation, including the previous government’s deal with the IMF, the war in Ukraine and the devaluation of the currency by the previous government. Benazir Income Support Program is an essential support for people in this hour of need. It is providing vital support to the most vulnerable and marginalized sections of the society, especially women.
